Duty Free Allowances

Duty-free shopping allows you to bring in a certain amount of goods into the Turks and Caicos Islands without paying customs duties or taxes. Understanding your duty-free allowances is crucial for a stress-free entry into the Turks and Caicos Islands. By following these simple guidelines, you can make the most of duty-free shopping while staying compliant with Border Force regulations.

Duty-free Allowances

  • If you're 18 or older, you're allowed to bring in up to 1 litre of spirits or 2 litres of wine
  • If you're 18 or older, you're allowed to bring in up to 200 cigarettes, or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 125 grams of smoking tobacco
  • 50 ml/ 1.7 fl oz. of perfume or 0.25 litres of Eau de toilette
  • Goods for personal or household use up to a value of USD 1000.00 per person.

If you have anything over your duty-free allowance, declare the goods and provide proof of purchase to the Border Force Officer for calculation of any duty and fees to be paid.

Failure to Comply

To benefit from the duty-free allowances, you must declare your goods. Failure to declare goods over your allowance could result in penalties, fees and seizure of goods.

Be aware that bringing in goods in commercial quantities may incur duties and taxes.

If you're unsure, check with customs officials or review our guidelines.
